RSS

KATHMANDU, Jan. 15: The Government of Nepal has initiated necessary legal process to free on bail Nepal Army Colonel Kumar Lama, who was arrested in the United Kingdom.

Taking the arrest of Lama seriously from the very beginning, the government is preparing to write to the British government again requesting for his immediate release, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha told RSS.

He further said preparation is underway to dispatch a logical and comprehensive letter with details of the actions carried out by Colonel Lama, while discharging his duty during the conflict period, to the United Nations and the British government requesting them to send Lama back to the UN Mission in Sudan.

´Most probably the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday will take a decision to write again for the release of Lama and initiate necessary process in this respect´, DPM Shrestha said
