RSS

GOLBAZAR, (Siraha), Jan. 21: A drove of brown vultures has been spotted near the East-West Highway in Siraha district.

The eight species of brown vulture including lammaigier, white rump, long willet are considered as rare in the world.

Spotting of brown vulture included in the endangered list of animals in the locality is a matter of happiness for the sector of environment, environmentalist Dinesh Yadav said.

A drove of rare species of vultures are seen in one kilometer east of Kasaha Chowk of Chandra Ayodhyanagar VDC where carcasses of buffaloes were thrown out.

Of late, vultures are occasionally spotted in different villages in Siraha, bringing happiness to the people working in the sector of environment.

Such vultures are rarely seen these days due to the new tradition that people bury the cattle themselves after they die rather than wait for Chamar community people for the task.
