Koirala challenges Dahal to tear up past accords

RAMESH KUMAR PAUDEL

CHITWAN, Jan 21: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala challenged UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal to tear-up all past agreements and return to jungle.

“Dahal’s made irresponsible statement. I guess, tearing the past agreements means returning to jungle. I’ve nothing to say if he has guts to do that,” Koirala said to journalist at Bharatpur airport, Chitwan on Monday afternoon.

He also said that Dahal’s statement reflected threats and made it clear that his party would never bow to them.

Dahal threatened to throw away all the agreements reached with other political parties if the current government is not allowed to hold elections by May-end, amid a program in Pokhara on Friday.
