  Samsung Mobile Expo from Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: If you are planning to buy new gadgets, then Samsung Mobile Expo 2013 could be the perfect destination for you, as different companies are introducing new mobiles, tablets and phablets (a combination of phone and tablet) at the event.

The week-long expo, organized by the Mobile Traders Association of Nepal (MTAN), will begin at Civil Trade Center (CTC) in Sundhara from January 23. The main objective of the event is to showcase new gadgets and disseminate information on advancements taking place in communications and technology sectors.

According to organizers, the expo will have 62 stalls, where different companies dealing with mobile sets and accessories, will showcase their products and services.

Besides, companies dealing with laptops, tablets and phablets, repair centers and telephone service providers will also line-up their products and services at the expo.

These new products and services will be launched by Nepali celebrities, the organizers said.

According to the organizers, visitors can purchase mobile phones of various brands at prices ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 100,000 at the expo. Similarly, tablets and phablets ranging from Rs 5,500 to Rs 80,000 will be available at the expo. These products will be available at discounts of up to 70 percent, organizers said.

Some of the attractions at the expo are launch of music series by International Marketing Services (IMS), the sole authorized distributor of Samsung mobile phones for Nepal, and introduction of Nokia Windows 8 phone series.

Similarly, InTech Mobile Industries is launching Jelly Bean phablets and tablets with Windows 8 operating system at the expo, while Indian brands G´Five, Colors, Karbonn and Lava are launching new range of smartphones.

Other attractions of the event include mobile phone exchange offer launched by CTV Mobile and discounts of up to 20 percent that Talk to Me, a mobile showroom, is offering on purchase of branded mobile phones.

Likewise, customers can also find laptops of various brands, like Acer, Dell and Toshiba, among others, and different brands of tablets and phablets at the event.

"Most of the participating companies are launching new products at the expo, making it the must-visit and perfect destination for gadget lovers," said Purushottam Basnet, president of the MTAN.

Entry fee for the event has been fixed at Rs 50 for general visitors and Rs 25 for students and mobile traders. The organizer will be providing a mobile set as door prize every day to attract visitors.
