Traffic police had started monitoring taxis from January 13 after its received many complaints by the passengers of suffering at the hands of the cab drivers of the capital.

Nepal Department of Quality Control and Metrology and Kathmandu Metropolis have also helped the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division in the monitoring work.

Division´s spokesperson Pawan Giri said that nearly 200 taxi drivers were punished during the period for breaching traffic rules.
