  Samsung Mobile Expo 2013 concludes

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Samsung Mobile Expo 2013 concluded in the capital on Tuesday, recording total turnover of Rs 100 million.

The seven-day event drew about 250,000 visitors, according to Mobile Traders Association of Nepal (MTAN) - the organizer of the event.

Officials of MTAN said the expo became successful in meeting its objectives of showcasing latest technologies and providing information about latest innovations in the mobile phone industry.

Exhibitors offered up to 60 percent discount on mobile phones and accessories, tablets, phablets and laptops, among others.

“We were able to attract huge crowd as we launched new models of mobile phones, tablets and phablets of different brands every day,” said Purushottam Basnet, president of MTAN.

The expo had showcased mobile phones priced between Rs 1,000 and Rs 100,000. Similarly, tablets and phablets, which were the major attraction of the event, were available in price range of Rs 5,500 to Rs 80,000.

At the expo, International Marketing Services (IMS) launched Samsung Galaxy Music Duos, while Nokia took bookings for its upcoming Windows 8 phones -- Lumia 620, Lumia 820 and Lumia 920.

Similarly, Colors and G´Five launched new smartphones, while Inktech Industries introducing Zeninthink N6 Phablet and W 800 Tablet.

Meanwhile, Coupon No. 1692 has been declared lucky winner for the sixth day of the event. IMS provided Samsung Galaxy S Duos as door prize every day. The company will provide Galaxy Note II as bumper door prize.

How was the expo?

Samsung Mobile Expo 2013 was very successful as we received more than 250,000 visitors and recorded total transaction of around Rs 100 million. The response was so overwhelming that many visitors requested us to extend the expo for a few days.

What was the major attraction of the expo?

The expo had 62 stalls where companies dealing on mobile sets and accessories, distributors of mobile phones, laptops, tablets and phablets, repair centers, and telephone service providers showcased their products and services. Stalls of smartphones and tablets attracted huge crowd.

The daily door prize also played a key role in attracting visitors as they could win Samsung Galaxy S Duos as daily door prize and Samsung Galaxy Note II as bumper door prize.

What benefits did customers get by visiting the expo?

Customers got opportunity to learn about new technology and new range of products and services of different leading brands. In addition to that, those who wanted to buy new mobile phones got attractive discounts. Besides, those who wanted to exchange their old phones with new ones got good price for their phones.
