Opposition gear up for Friday mass meet in Dailekh

GOVINDA KC

DAILEKH, Jan 31: Various opposition parties have planned a mass meet at Dullu, here in the district for Friday, with their top leaders scheduled to address the gathering.

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana, among others, are addressing the meet.

All preparations for the gathering are over. Leaders from the opposition parties have already arrived to participate in the protest meet, which the organizers said would be participated by around 20,000 cadres. Security in the district has been stepped up to avert any untoward incident.

UML leader Nepal, who arrived here for the meet, described Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai as being the most despotic PM. "How can the leader who gives order to shoot the people of Dailkeh be the prime minister?" Nepal said while speaking at a press conference.
