  Discounts, freebies galore at Info-Tech

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Exhibitors at Midas CAN Info-Tech 2013 are offering special discount along with attractive gifts to lure visitors. They have also announced longer warranty, exchange offers, and free maintenance service.

S Power BPE is one such company providing attractive discounts. It is offering 20 to 40 percent discount on power solution. Murari Mohan Jha of S Power BPE said his company was providing discount on equipment like inverters, UPS and solar hybrid inverters. “The response on the first day was overwhelming. We became successful in finalizing six dealers today itself,” Jha said, adding that they were hopeful of getting 80 dealers before the event concludes.

The company is showcasing hybrid inverters with capacity ranging from 100 VA to 15 KVA. Besides, its stall features home UPS ranging from 50 VA to 15 KVA capacity.

Explore Asia, one of the leading IT distributors, is offering gift like extra power adaptor, laptop bag and Internet security, among others with the purchase of laptops. “We are also providing up to 30 percent discount on accessories,” said Ajay Sadewra, director of Explore Asia.

Similarly, Nepa Hima Trade Link - the authorized distributor of Sony in Nepal -- has announced discounts of up to 15 percent on products including LED televisions, digital cameras and handycams. Yadav Raj Gautam, manager-sales and marketing at the company, said they were also showcasing recently launched new range of LED television which is power efficient and 30 percent slimmer compared to the Bravia series.

State-owned Nepal Telecom (NT) is offering free talk time worth Rs 100 with the purchase of balance top-up card worth Rs 100.

BYTSS Technologies has offered special discount on laptop repair. “We are providing discount on repair of various problems like power supply, video chips, and over heating, among others,” Yadav Pokharel, managing director of BYTSS Technologies, said. The company has also launched laptop exchange offer.

Visitors can also enjoy 15 percent discount on web designing. The offer is available at the stall of Braindigit IT solution for the next five days.

Similarly, Internet service provider Web Surfer is giving away a pen drive (8 GB) free with the subscription of Internet packages for corporate house and small offices. “We are offering special discount on installation charge during the event”, Suman Lal Pradhan, CEO of Web Surfer.

Maya Animation Academy is offering 50 percent discount on animation course to visitors of the Info-Tech.

PC maker Asus is providing cash discount of Rs 2,000-3,000 on laptops.

Generation Next, the authorized dealer for Dell products in Nepal, has launched an exchange offer under which customers can bring old laptops of any brands and take home a brand new Dell laptop after paying certain additional amount.

Customer buying laptops and desktops from Sathi Trading International can get accessories like headphones and pen drives free of cost.

Pacific Commercial Company is giving away free fax machine and toner cartridge with every purchase of digital photocopy machine. Likewise customers buying Samsung LCD monitor will get a webcam free of cost during the event.

Bhandari Surgical has announced special discounts on various medical equipment, including glucometer.

Amrit Pant, general secretary of CAN, said discount offers have remained one of the major crowd pulling factors at the Info-Tech. “Exhibitors are offering special rates which will definitely help boost sales,” Pant said.
