BIRATNAGAR, Feb 8: Flights were disrupted for an hour after a fire broke out near the west-south fence of Biratngar airport on Friday. Airport officials said the fire broke out after someone threw a burning cigarette on dry grass near its fence.
Flights were disrupted after the fire spread on the runway, informed Raj Kumar Chhetri, chief of Civil Aviation Office (CAO), Biratnagar, adding, the fire was doused after an hour.
A flight of Buddha airlines, bound to Kathmandu from Biratnagar, remained grounded for an hour due to the fire outbreak.
