DIL BAHADUR CHATYAL

DHANGADI, Feb 21: CPN-Maoist on Thursday torched effigies of President Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai in Dhangadi for taking initiatives for formation of the chief justice-led (CJ) government.

A rally led by the party passed through the major thoroughfares of the city before converging into a corner meeting at LN Chowk.

CPN-Maoist Central Member Om Prakash Pun in the meeting said the formation of the CJ-led government was a foreign-planted idea and the premiers were just dancing in their tunes.

"The chief justice-led government will invite constitutional hurdles as judiciary and executive powers are enjoyed by the same person," Pun said.

He made it clear that his party would never support fresh Constituent Assembly elections under the CJ-led government.
