KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Of the complaints received by Hello Sarkar, a program introduced by Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to listen to the grievances of the ordinary people, 70 percent of the complaints received between mid-January to mid-February relate to anomalies in the foreign employment sector.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), 657 of the total 957 complaints made through Hello Sarkar are related with problems in the foreign employment sector. Secretary at OPMCM Krishna Hari Banskota said 57 of those complaints were addressed immediately and 55 others were kept in high priority.
Banskota said complaints such as irregularities in the distribution of social security allowance, bank´s delay in providing loan and delay in issuing license to teachers, among other issues, were given top priority. Banskota said they have so far received a total of 20,032 complaints through Hello Sarkar since its inception in November last year.
Hello Sarkar also received complaints relating to violence against women, deforestation, electricity supply and public toilets in the city areas. Banskota said OPMCM has already given instructions to line ministries to address the problems.
