KATHMANDU, Feb. 25: The qualifying games under group ´d´ of the AFC Challenge Cup Football tournament is taking place at local Dasarath stadium starting this March 2 to 6.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has divided 20 Asian countries into five groups for the qualifying round of the AFC Challenge Cup. Accordingly, Nepal, Palestine, Bangladesh and Norther Mariana Islands are competing for a place in the major tournament from Group ´d´.
Speaking at a press conference organized here on Monday, President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Ganesh Thapa said the tournament is expected to cost Rs. 12.5 million and tickets for the matches have been designated at Rs. 700 and Rs. 300 for the VIP and general section respectively.
Everyday two matches will be held with the first beginning at 2:30 in the afternoon and second at 5:30 in the late afternoon.
The Nepali national football team is currently busy preparing for the tournament under the guidance of its new coach Jack Stefenoski
