REPUBLICA ONLINE

CHITWAN, Feb 6: A man died after a wild elephant attacked him at Gardi VDC-1 in the district on Wednesday night.

The victim is identified as 43-year-old Sher Bahadur Darjee of Gardi VDC.

According to police a wild elephant barged into his hut and trampled him to death while he was asleep.

Notorious elephant called Dhrube had killed other three people in a row of attacks after it first took one’s life at Ameliya village in the Madi area last year.

The government had spent 1,600,000 rupees in a bid to take Dhrube under control.
