BANEPA, July 21: Normal life has been affected in districts eastward of the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday due to the highway strike called by Tamasaling Joint Struggle Committee (TJSC).
Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Sindhuli and Ramechhap remain affected by the closure of Arniko and BP Highway. TJSC called the strike to pressure government to implement the 19-point agreement signed by TJSC and the government.
TJSC activists have demonstrated at various points of the highways and have not let four-wheelers and two-wheelers ply on the highways.
They also vandalized a van of Kantipur Publications early Tuesday morning. The van with registration plate Ba 3 Cha 6802 was delivering newspapers.
“If the government does not move forward in implementing the agreement, we will announce more strikes,” TJSC Kavre co-ordinator Chhoiku Lama said.
