PALPA, Aug 28: Maoist Young Communist League (YCL) members on Wednesday night severely beat up three CPN-UML workers including Thakur Prasad Poudyal, 70, at Gokhunga VDC-7 in Arghakhanchi district. Family sources said the YCL cadres attacked Poudel when he was sleeping at his home.
They have also left three other UML cadres -- Laxmi Prasad Poudel, Suman Poudel and Baburam Poudel -- who were also at Thakur´s house injured. All the injured are currently undergoing treatment at Arghakhanchi District Hospital in Sandikharka.
Issuing a press statement, the UML Arghakhanchi district committee has denounced the attack. The statement says YCL cadres led by Bala Bahadur Thapa at Gokhunga village had assaulted their cadres.
