Siddhartha Dev Bank to go national LG Koryo ki soryo festive scheme

KATHMANDU, Sept 7: The Nepal Rastra Bank has agreed in principle to allow Butwal-based Siddhartha Development Bank Ltd to increase its capital base and upgrade it to a national level development bank.
Issuing a statement on Monday, the development bank said it would soon move its headquarters to Kathmandu and start providing financial services at the national level.
The bank has a client base of more than 25,000 and has a paid-up capital of Rs 645 million. The bank collected Rs 2.1 billion in deposits and released Rs 1.6 billion in loans in the preceding fiscal year. The bank´s net profit for the period stood at Rs 36 million, the statement added.
LG Koryo ki soryo festive scheme
KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Chaudhary Group, the authorized distributor of LG Electronics for Nepal, has announced a scratch card scheme on LG mobile phone sets for the Dashain-Tihar festive season.
In a statement issued Monday, the company said all buyers of LG mobile phones would receive a scratch card with cash prizes between Rs 100 and Rs 100,000 on offer.
According to the statement, there are 18 service centers for LG Mobile in the country. LG Mobile phone sets are also covered by a year´s warranty, while batteries come with a six-month warranty.
Clean Energy Dev Bank in fourth year
KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Clean Energy Development Bank completed three years of operation on Monday, the bank said in a statement.
"The bank has managed to create a separate identity in a very short time. In line with the bank´s core policy to invest in clean energy generation and hydropower project, we have also been increasing our investment in the sector and have partnerships and agreements with different related organizations, both foreign and domestic," the bank said in the statement.
The bank also said it had opened branches in Birtamod of Jhapa; Durbar Marg of Kathmandu; Gorkha Bazaar of Gorkha, Phidim of Panchthar and Katari of Udayapur.
At the end of 2008/09 fiscal year, the bank had Rs 2.97 billion in deposits and had invested Rs 2.38 billion in loans, it said. The bank also earned a net profit of Rs 22.9 million in the preceding fiscal year.
Prolink Glee TA-009 launched
KATHMANDU, Sept 7: SHTC International Pvt Ltd has unveiled a new laptop, a portable mini wireless router and adapter from Prolink. The Prolink Glee TA-009, priced at Rs 36,000 with a Linux operating system, is a 10.1-inch computer which runs on a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor.
According to SHTC, the computer weighs 1.1 kg and is 1.8cm thick. The computer is offered with a 160 GB hard disk drive and a 1 GB DDR2 RAM. Glee-009 also has a 1.3 mp webcam, TFT LCD display with LED backlight feature, built-in microphone and stereo speakers.
SHTC also unveiled the Prolink WNR1004 Mini Wireless-N Router and WN2000 Mini Wireless-N USB Adapter. "With a fast wireless network speed of up to 150 mbps and outdoor coverage of up to 250 meters of this combo, users can experience high-speed web surfing, file downloading, online gaming, and video conference sessions and fast streaming of high quality multimedia anywhere," SHTC said adding that it was selling the WNR1004C at Rs 5,700 each.
