Khotang in darkness for two days

REPUBLICA

UDAYAPUR, Sept 8: People in the district headquarters Diktel and the surrounding areas in Khotang have been living in darkness for the last two days after the 33,000 KV Gaighat-Diktel transmission line was snapped by a fallen tree somewhere along the Gaighat-Saune stretch.

“A team of technicians have been sent for repair work. But they have to follow every pole through the jungle and we don´t know where they have reached now,” said acting chief of Nepal Electricity Authority in Khotang Dhan Bahadur Adhikari.

Adhikari, however, couldn´t set a time frame for when the power supply would resume. Power supply had resumed just a couple of days ago in the region following a disruption of five days.
