KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Six people died in various incidents across the country on Wednesday.
A 77-year-old man died due to drowning at Gitanagar-6, west of the Chitwan district.
Kamal Prasad Gauli of Kesharbag, Gitanagar had gone to cut grass for cattle on the edge of a pond at 10 a.m. Locals believe that he might have slipped and fell into the pond.
Similarly, a 40-year-old man was found dead in his room at a guest house in Dumrebazaar in Tanahun district.
Raju Nepali of Mirlung VDC-1 was found dead in a room at Mirlung Hotel. He had gone to bed after eating dinner the previous night.
Police have launched an investigation in this connection.
Meanwhile in Nuwakot, an employee of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has died due to electrocution.
Fifty-year-old Ram Krishna Bhandari of Harkapur, Kalyanpur VDC-1 was electrocuted while trying to fix transmission line an electric pole near his house, police said.
Similarly, three people died in separate incidents in Saptari district on Wednesday.
Two people died in a road accident at Bhangaha on the East-West Highway on Wednesday afternoon. A woman sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Bijendra Bhandari, a resident of Dangihat, Morang district, who was riding a motorcycle died on the spot after a passenger bus hit the motorcycle. An unidentified pillion rider also died on the way to hospital.
Laxmi Devi Sada, a resident of Shambhunath VDC died on the spot after she was knocked down by a truck on the East-West highway.
