  Nepali youth team in kabaddi final

BUTWAL, Sept 13: Nepal advanced into the final on the ongoing International Kabaddi League Championship under National Style youth category on Sunday being held at Siddharthanagar.


Nabikaran Team of Nepal registered a narrow 34-31 win over Sports India. Likewise, in another match they humiliated the Nervier Team of America 35-25.

Under senior men´s category, Nepal´s performance could not remain favorable as they were humiliated by Team India Kabaddi 77-19 and America thrashed 66-10 and Jharkhand beat 50-30. Sher-e-Punjab and Nervier Team set up the title clash in senior category.

In women´s category, Norway and Sher-e-Punjab has fixed the date for final. The three day long tournament organized by World Kabaddi Federation will conclude on Monday.


APF into football quarterfinal

TANAHUN, Sept 13: The Armed Police Force (APF) Club advanced into the quarterfinal of Club Level National Football Tournament defeating Kaski-11, 3-1 on Sunday. The tournament is being held at Gorakhkali Rubber Udyog ground, Anbu Khaireni.



Though Khum Gurung opened the scoring for Kaski in the 17th minute they were unable to continue with the lead as Jeevesh Pandey leveled the match three minutes later. Likewise, Top Bista and Ganesh Lawati added one in each in the 31st and 32nd minutes respectively to register the victory. No other goals were possible in the remaining time of the match.

Ganesh Lawati of the APF was declared man-of-the-match. The Nepal Army will take on Sankata Club on Monday.


APF, ECS win in volleyball

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Armed Police Force (APF) and Employment Creation Service (ECS) won their respective matches in the super league round under the men´s category of National Women´s and Men´s League Volleyball Tournament on Sunday.



APF beat Western region in the straight sets in the match held at Dasharath stadium covered hall. Though Western region put up a good show in the first two sets, APF eventually won 25-21 and 25-22. APF continued its good rhythm and won the third set 25-13.

Meanwhile, ECS defeated PLA team in the second match of the day. ECS won the first two sets 25-16, 25-19 respectively. Though PLA won the third set 25-16, ECS won the fourth 26-24 to collect valuable two points.
