  Surkhet-Dailekh road yet to reopen

REPUBLICA

SURKHET, Sept 14: The Surkhet-Dailekh road that was obstructed due to landslides at different parts following incessant rain is yet to reopen. The highway was closed on September 5 and has opened for small vehicles like jeeps but passenger buses and trucks are still not plying on it.

Chief of the Surkhet-Ranimatta-Dailekh road project Hikmat Basnet said the repair works have been delayed due to continuing rainfall. Heavy vehicles can go till Ranimatta at present and the people have to walk for two days to reach Dailekh headquarters.
