BUTWAL, Sept 14: Navikaran Team of Nepal on Monday secured second position under the youth category in the ongoing International Kabaddi League Championship being held at Siddharthanagar. Navikaran suffered a 53-27 loss at the hands of Nervier team of America. Similarly, All Indian Sports Federation secured third position under the category.


Nervier also took gold in Asian Style under the men´s category defeating Sher-e-Punjab, India by 53-28 points. Likewise, BSES, Sweden outplayed Indian Kabaddi Federation 32-16 to secure the third spot.

Similarly, in women´s National Style, Norway Kabaddi Team outplayed Sher-e-Punjab 51-12 to finish as winners while Nepali Kabbadi Team had to contend with third position.



In women´s Beach Kabaddi, Norway thrashed Navikaran 76-21 to clinch the top spot.

The winners and the runners-up were presented with certificates and medals by Senior Superintendent of Police Bigyan Raj Sharma and World Kabaddi Federation Executive President Lendup Dorje Lama.

Altogether 250 players are participating in the championship organized by the World Kabaddi Federation. The participating teams include teams from India, America, Norway, Sweden, Malaysia and Nepal.


Nepal Army Club into club football semis

TANAHUN, Sept 14: Nepal Army Club (NAC) booked their place in the last four of the Club Level National Football Tournament being held in Anbu Khaireni defeating Sankata Club, Kathmandu 2-0 on Monday.

Amrit Basnet opened the scoring for the Army team that had enjoyed a bye in the first round match. Bishwabairag Samal of the NAC, who was later declared the man-of-the-match, added another in the 67th minute to double his side´s advantage. No other goals were possible in the remaining time of the match. Sankata, studded with young players, were unable to score despite putting up a good show against the Army team.

On Tuesday, Nepal Police Club will take on Armed Police Force Club. The tournament is organized by All Star Club.
