Khanal Stresses Consensus Govt Before Statute
  KATHMANDU, April 14: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal stated on Saturday that formation of a national consensus government, in line with the November seven-point pact, is a prerequisite for timely promulgation of the new constitution.

Speaking over the pone from his residence in Dall to district leaders and civil society members of Mugu, the UML chairman argued that it is only a national consensus government that actually can resolve the remaining outstanding issues of constitution writing.

Khanal talked to Mugu UML leader Mohan Baniya, UCPN (Maoist) district in-charge Mangal Shahi, Nepali Congress district president Ain Bahadur Shahi and civil society member Gyanendra Shahi, among others.

During the conversation, the district representatives urged Khanal to keep the Karnali zone geographically intact while restructuring the state and voiced their concern against disintegrating the region along ethnic line.
