Two Injured In NC, Maoist Clash Die |

BIRATNAGAR, June 22: Two persons, who were injured in the clash between Nepali Congress (NC) cadre Khdga Fago and UCPN(Maoist) cadre Susan Limbu in Urlabari Tuesday night, died on Friday.
Arun Magar, 26, of Itahara-9, Dhunabari and Amar Dhimal of Rajghat-9, who were among three critically injured found by the police in front of Fago´s house, died while undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar and a hospital in Siliguri, India respectively.
Rajeev Limbu, the other injured, has already returned home following treatment.
Magar, who had sustained a deep head injury, was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). “We were collecting money for operation by selling jewelry but we could not save him,” Magar´s brother-in-law Bhim Thapa said. Dhimal had also sutained serious injuries.
Magar´s family claimed that he was attacked while returning home after closing a grocery store in Urlabari. The gangs of Fago, President of NC´s Morang Constituency No-9, and Limbu, Chief of Maoist People´s Volunteer Bureau, Urlabari, had clashed Tuesday night. The two groups have been fighting regularly to establish their supremacy in Urlabari.
Magar´s family has lodged a murder case against Fago, who has been arrested along with Limbu, with Morang Police on Friday. Meanwhile, NC, Morang has submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer (CDO) Taranath Gautam demanding Fago´s acquittal. |
