PM Says He Is Ready To Quit |

KATHMANDU, June 26: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Tuesday said he is ready to step down if the parties reach consensus but said his resignation should not be made a precondition for forging such a consensus.
The prime minister had earlier said he would not resign until a government following election of new parliament is formed.
"I am ready to tender my resignation but my resignation should not be made a pre-condition for consensus," the prime minister told a select group of media persons at his residence in Baluwatar.
The prime minister also appealed to the opposition parties to hold talks and find a solution to the current “complex political situation”. The prime minister also said he would consult civil society and political leaders to find a solution to the current political crisis. |
