Seti Flood Sweeps Away Squatter Settlement
  POKHARA, July 12: Two squatter settlements in Pokhara have been inundated by flood in Seti river since Wednesday midnight.

Around three dozen families in Pokhara-10, Ramghat and Pokhara-1, Gaighat have been hit hard as the water level rose significantly, according to the police.

The locals were rescued with boats brought from Fewa Lake after the flood inundated human settlements. Kaski Police said 29 persons, including 16 children were rescued and shifted to a safe place.

“We rescued the stranded persons from one to three in the morning,” said Spokesperson at Kaski Police Rabindra Paudel.

Kaski Police said a team of 35 policemen led by inspector Ramesh Prasad Shrestha had reached Ramghat immediately after news about the flood spread.
