Dalit Girl Commits Suicide After Failing In SLC |

JAJARKOT, Sept 5: A Dalit girl student committed suicide on Wednesday in a remote village of Jajarkot district after failing in the SLC supplementary exams. Bina Nepali, 19, of Kortang VDC in Jajarkot district, killed herself by jumping into Aulo Khola, which is close to her house, Wednesday morning.
Bina had gone to her maize field early morning purportedly to chase away monkeys.
As she did not return home till noon, Bina´s parents started searching for their daughter. She was found dead in the khola in the afternoon, according to police inspector Nain Singh Karki.
Bina´s father Manrup Nepali said that his daughter was quite depressed after failing in Social Studies even in the SLC supplementary exams.
On Tuesday, the Office of the Controller of the SLC exams had published the results of the SLC supplementary exams in which 62 per cent of the examinees had succeeded in getting through the Iron Gate. Altogether 124,000 had appeared in the supplementary exams. |
