CA Can Be Revived: NC Vice Chair Poudel
BUTWAL, Sept 9: Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel has opined that the Constituent Assembly (CA) could be revived on the basis of national consensus to end the present political crisis in the country.

However, forging national consensus is a must before the revival of the CA, he said. Speaking at a press meet organised by the Nepal Press Union, Rupandehi chapter at Butwal today, leader Poudel said only the government formed with national consensus could settle the disputed issues and revival of the CA was the best alternative to breaking country´s political deadlock.

Efforts are on to forge consensus to end the constitutional complexities in the country, he said. He proposed to promulgate the constitution forging consensus on the disputed issues. Referendum can be held to finalise the issues of federalism, he said, but accused the UCPN (Maoist) of being engaged in the game of finishing off democracy.
