BUSINESS BRIEFS: Republica Scribe Ghimire Honored |

KATHMANDU, Sept 16: Prabhakar Ghimire, senior correspondent of this daily, was honored in the capital on Sunday for his contribution to the journalism sector. Nepal Cultural Association on the day facilitated around two dozen personalities, including Ghimire, recognizing their contribution in their respective fields.
Nepali Congress (NC) President Shusil Koirala, senior NC leader and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and NC vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel jointly felicitated them on the occasion of 99th BP Day.
KC named acting GM of NAC
KATHMANDU: Raju Bahadur KC, deputy general manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has been appointed acting general manager of the national flag carrier. Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation said Sunday the cabinet meeting took the decision and that KC will serve in the post until a new general manager is appointed. KC has been working with NAC for the last 35 years. Likewise, the government has appointed tourism secretary Yagya Gautam as the chairman of NAC. Both the posts were lying vacant after Manarup Shahi, NAC´s chairman and general manager, tendered resignation last week.
Colors X-6 in market
KATHMANDU: Teletalk -- the sole authorized distributor of Colors mobiles in Nepal -- has introduced a new dual-SIM Colors X-6 in the market, targeting consumers who need two use SIMs. Issuing a press statement, the company said the new set with 2.6 inch screen has features like FM radio, Bluetooth and WAP (wireless application protocol).
