Nepal, China Play For Prestige |

KATHMANDU, Oct 28: The last group match of the ACC Women´s T20 Asia Cup between Nepal and China will be only for prestige. Nepal and host China have already crashed out of the event after both teams were defeated in their first two matches in the four team group.
Both Nepal and China crashed out of the event with a match in hand after Sri Lanka crushed host China by nine wickets on Saturday. Nepal suffered a 20 run defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh thumped Nepal by nine runs.
Nepal had encountered China twice in the past and Nepal had emerged victorious on both the occasions. Both Nepal and China marked their international debut in 2007 ACC Women´s Tournament. In course of making it to final in its first international tournament, Nepal defeated China by 40 runs in the semifinal. In the 2009 edition of the same event, Nepal had defeated China by 74 runs in the fourth place playoff match.
In the ACC Women´s T20 Championship held last year in Kuwait, Nepal finished fourth while China made it to the final. |
