NC Meets On Anti-govt Protest |

KATHMANDU, Nov 11: A meeting of office bearers and available Central Working Committee members of the Nepali Congress (NC) discussed ways to carry out preparatory works for the proposed protest program assigned to the party, on Sunday.
The meeting held at the residence of NC President Sushil Koirala at Maharajgunj also decided ways to make proposed anti-government protest rigorous, informed party Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel after the meeting.
NC has been assigned to carry out mass rallies to be held in Janakpur on November 30 and Nepalgunj on December 8.
It is also given the responsibility of picketing the district administration offices in Jhapa, Saptari, Kaski, Parsa, Dang, Surkhet and Kanchanpur districts scheduled for December 14.
The meeting has concluded that though the new budget is essential, there would be no possibility of bringing in the budget without forging national consensus among the political parties.
Underlining the need to forge consensus at the earliest, the meeting also cautioned that new elections could not be held even in months of April and May next year if there is delay in forging consensus.
Fifteen opposition parties, including the NC, on Saturday had announced a month-long protest program that also includes mass rallies and sit-ins across the country to oust the incumbent government and pave way for fresh elections in April next year.
