SURKHET, Aug 31: When Krishna Prasad Kharel of Birendranagar–14 was about to open his eatery located at Katkuwa Chowk of Surkhet–Dailekh road section on Friday morning, he noticed many dead and injured cows around. It was just 5 am and he informed the district police office, Surkhet immediately.

SURKHET, Aug 30: Twenty-three cows have been found dead in the Katkuwa jungle of Birendranagar. The animals were being transported to Dailekh from Nepalgunj-based Kanji House, a temporary shelter for the stray cattle.

The Earth is a common home for all living creatures, but some people do not think this way and abuse lesser beings. According to the data of Animal Nepal, there are around 22,000 stray dogs inside the Kathmandu Valley, but the question is, where do they come from? These animals came through different means. While some of them are preexisting community dogs, the others were abandoned by their owners as they became old, aggressive, or handicapped.
