BUTWAL, Aug 26: Police arrested Krishna Gurung of Pokhara from Nawalpur for smuggling drugs last Friday. Gurung, a local of Lekhnath Municipality, used to smuggle drugs from Indian towns near Rupandehi border to Pokhara and other cities.

'No-vehicle zone" for peace hub

Seven years back, Lakeside, the biggest tourist hub in Pokhara, was declared a ‘no-vehicle zone’ on Friday afternoons. The ban on vehicles was implemented from Hallan Chowk to Fishtail Gate which is about a 3-km stretch of Lakeside. However, the campaign was dropped after seven months as the locals refused to comply.

Nestled among the beautiful hills of Panchthar district, Miklajung has a great potential for becoming a tourist hub. Surrounding the area are rivulets running between the hills, forming a spectacular landscape. A Hub to learn innovation in education

Idea of the Book Bus was fascinating to five-year-old Pranav Pokhrael. His curiosity and excitement led him to occupy a seat opposite the Book Bus and read the ‘Alladin and the Wonderful Lamp’. He had come with his father to the ‘Innovation in Education Fair 2017’.

Hundreds of hitis or dhunge dharas (stone water spouts) are spread around the Kathmandu Valley. According to the research done by Dr Sandhya Khanal (Parajuli), lecturer at Central Department of Nepali History, Culture and Archaeology (NeHCA) at Tribhuvan University, there were 204 hitis in Kathmandu, 63 in Patan and 97 in Bhaktapur in 2073 BS.
