KATHMANDU, March 31: Local residents have expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to open Thamel, a major tourist destination in Kathmandu, 24 hours a day seven days a week.

KAPILVASTU, Feb 3: Local residents of Kapilvastu have been staging protests for three consecutive days, blocking vehicular movement along the Postal Highway, demanding immediate arrest of the driver of the vehicle that crushed a child to death.

KATHMANDU, July 20: The local residents of Kakani Rural Municipality in Nuwakot and Dhunibesi Municipality of Dhading have decided not to allow the disposal of garbage collected from the Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts) in the Banchare Danda landfill site until the agreement reached previously is fully implemented.

BIRENDRANAGAR, July 7: The operators of Rara Hydropower Development Company, currently constructing the project along the Parajuli River in Dailekh, have reportedly vanished, leaving local residents in a state of distress after having taken their money. Following a six-month suspension of work at the hydro power construction site, the operators absconded, leaving behind numerous grievances.

KATHMANDU, August 28: The local residents of Sisdole where the Kathmandu Valley’s landfill site is located have expressed dissatisfaction with the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Mohammad Ishtiaq Rai, and the Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, who had gone there for a visit on Sunday.
