The Covid-19 pandemic has altered our perception about what is normal, and thus our 'needs' and 'wants' carry a new meaning.  As we wander amid an unprecedented crisis, many of us believe that it may perhaps change us as a species. Our priorities have changed, and so has our outlook towards life.  It has changed everything from the way we communicate to the overall functioning of each sector of the business environment.

The venture started in 1998 when Prajwol Shrestha took some handicrafts from Nepal to Hanover, Germany, and sold them online through eBay. The only motive behind selling those goods was to earn some extra bucks to afford a quality living in Germany as a student. However, after his graduation, things changed. The handicrafts were greatly appreciated and gradually the demand increased in the international market. Due to this, he decided to continue the same export-business on a larger scale and established a small, cottage enterprise, NepaCrafts. Today, the company is home to many marginalized local artisans and the creations are sold across the globe.

Sumandas says life has different stages -- as a gleeful child, as a carefree student, as an ignorant teenager, being married and then the struggling part, where one must work vigorously to sustain their family.

Prof. Thapa teaches a range of courses, including literary theory, courses in American, British, and post-colonial literatures, rhetoric and writing, and communications to MA and M. Phil. students.  He also supervises Ph.D. students. Dr. Thapa received his Ph.D. in American literature and culture in 2007 from Texas Christian University, US and also taught there as a senior lecturer between 2007 and 2009.   In conversation with Republica, he talks about his motivation to teach everyday and the importance of English studies and its contribution to society.

With all developing teams, there are areas which need improvement. There are always ways of improving and getting opportunity. There are quite good players in Nepal. They need to be identified, groomed and given opportunity. The game is played in the head.
