In the US, education secretary has been criticized for not doing enough for upkeep of community schools. In India, school-level education and management of teachers are becoming burdensome tasks for different states. Teachers are seen as staging protests frequently.

Rolpa schools witness high drop-out rate

ROLPA, Nov 14: The total number of students in Rolpa during last year was 81,702, according to the District Coordination Committee. In the current fiscal year, the number of students has declined to 67,188. The public schools in Rolpa are reportedly suffering human resource crisis along with lack of proper infrastructure.

The national assessment of students’ achievement has shown that achievement level of the students from public schools in Nepal is low. For the same reason, people blame that there’s no quality education in public schools. Although the scores of the students are not and should not be the only determiner of quality education, it’s one of them.

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: The students of public schools across the country are likely to face a shortage of textbooks this year again owing to the government’s dilly-dallying in publishing the books.
