The Barhabarse Makar Mela, a month-long festival, began on January 15 (Magh 1 of the Nepali month) in Panauti. The district officials in Kavre though had ordered to cancel the festivity on January 11 due to the impending threat of COVID-19. Local devotees, on the other hand, have decided to hold it. This year it continues till February 12.

Traditional cloth pouch (Thaili) is her main motif along with female figures, men, wavy water, fishes, lotus and children among others; which she links with various aspects or feelings one gets in life. Her artworks are dreamlike which are pleasant to the eyes and have a rhythm to them. She has not created any facial features for any of the human figures. The reason for not having facial features is that any viewers can relate the artworks to themselves.

A solo painting exhibition by the French artist “C’est la Vie” kicked off on December 10 at Bikalpa Art Center, Pulchowk. According to a press statement released by Bikalpa Art Center, the exhibition’s title “C’est la Vie”; a French expression for “This is life” which is a reminder of the pure essence of living, the ethos of being and existing; to simply observe the nature of reality and truth with a non-judgmental acceptance to the vicissitudes of life in order to create a happier present moment reality.
