Vulture breeding center at CNP to close down

CHITWAN, April 17: The vulture breeding center at the Chitwan National Park (CNP) is to shut down. Established in 2008, the center is closing down in view of the increasing number of vultures in the wild and the breeding not becoming impactful at the center, the park officials said.

KATHMANDU, April 17: A Summit Air aircraft that took off for Lukla Airport at around 12PM was forced to make a safe landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu after encountering technical issues with its engine.

According to Joint-Spokesperson Dr Sameer Kumar Adhikari of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the government's goal of fully vaccinating all the population above 18 years of age by May 2022 has almost been achieved.

Farmers demanding payment of sugarcane stop sugar exports

SARLAHI, April 16: Farmers of Sarlahi have stopped the export of sugar demanding payment of arrears of sugarcane. The farmers have taken three trucks of sugar in control that were headed for Kathmandu since Wednesday as the operator of Mahalakshmi Sugar Mill Bagdaha in Godaita Municipality has not paid the dues of sugarcane purchased from the farmers in the current fiscal year.
