Judicial Council relieves CJ Parajuli of his responsibility

The Judicial Council has relieved Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli of his responsibility on Wednesday. The Council issuing a letter in this connection signed by the Council’s Secretary Nripa Dhoj Niraula declared Parajuli’s removal from the post while he was administering the oath of office and secrecy to Bidya Devi Bhandari, who was re-elected as president for the second term on Tuesday, at Sheetal Niwas.

Bhandari sworn in as President for second term by 'ousted-CJ'

Bidya Devi Bhandari has been sworn in as the President of Nepal for the second time on Wednesday. 'Ousted-Chief Justice' Gopal Parajuli administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas.

During a tea party program to provincial assembly members at the Prime Minister’s Residence, PM KP Sharma Oli stressed that spreading illusions was over. “Now the public will identify and separate right from the wrong,” Oli said adding that the parliamentarians must work with honesty and in high morale to deliver development and prosperity to the people.

Deuba highlights opposition's role to strengthen democracy

Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba have said the role of opposition in the parliament was significant for strengthening democracy. Speaking at an orientation programme organized by the party for Federal Parliament and State Assembly members here today, he expressed hope that party's presence in the parliament as the main opposition would be more effective than in the government.

United Airlines apologizes after puppy onboard  dies

United Airlines has apologized after a dog that was forced to travel in an overhead locker died. A dog has died on a United Airlines flight after an attendant forced the animal’s owner to put the pet in the cabin’s overhead bin. The airline said it was taking full responsibility.
