UDAYAPUR, March 17: On Friday, a motorcyclist was killed when a cargo tipper hit him at Katari in Udayapur.  

The motorcyclist died after the motorcycle with registration number State 02-019 Pa 4915 was hit by a tipper (Ba 5 Kha 4653) in Kakur Khola Bridge Katari Municipality 4, of Madan Bhandari Lokmarg, at 12:30 in the afternoon.

The tipper, which was going to a mine in Kakur Thakur to get limestone for Maruti Cement, hit the motorcycle which was traveling to the same place.  

Sudhir Kumar Mandal, 21, son of Lalchand Mandal, resident of Dhanpal Than Rural Municipality 7 of Morang, was seriously injured in the incident. According to District Police Office Udayapur, the injured Mandal was rescued and brought to Katari Hospital for treatment where he was announced dead.

A team sent from the Area Police Office Katari completed the search and legal process and handed over the body of the deceased to the Katari hospital for post-mortem. District Police Spokesperson DSP Rakesh Podar said that 29-year-old Umesh Sada of Katari Municipality 4, the tipper driver, was arrested and brought to Katari for further investigation.
