Nepal started observing International Women’s Day 34 years ago, commemorating a significant occasion that underscores the united commitment to human rights and the ongoing pursuit of gender parity. The theme for Women's Day this year (March 8) is "Invest in women: Accelerate progress," complemented by the campaign theme, "Inspire Inclusion”. In celebration of the 34th International Women’s Day in Nepal, Republica has curated a collection of 34 inspiring stories showcasing unwavering courage, resilience, and empowerment of women below the age of 34. These stories are not merely personal; they wield a profound impact, shaping the lives of those who share them. They unfold as tales of courage, resilience, and empowerment.

Miruna Magar, a 30-year-old actress, embodies the belief that no path is too difficult for the determined. With her captivating performances, she won over audiences in a short period of time, marking her as a notable success in the film industry.

Born in Hong Kong in 1994, Magar moved to Dharan, Nepal, at the age of two, where she pursued her education up to the 8th grade. Her journey then took her to the UK with her family, where she completed her postgraduate studies, nurturing a growing passion for drama.

In 2017, armed with a degree and a dream, Magar returned to Nepal, embarking on a solo venture in a country that felt unfamiliar, despite it being her homeland. "My family was in the UK, and I had no acquaintances in Nepal," she said. It was in Nepal that her acting career began to take shape, with collaboration with theater actor Anup Baral. Her debut performance in Baral's 'Kathadesh Part 3' set the stage for her career. Similarly, she landed a role in the movie 'Lalpurja', followed by roles in eight more films.

Magar's talents extend beyond the silver screen; she has also earned a degree in International Relations. Reflecting on her journey, she shares, “If you put your heart and soul in your work, any work will be successful and beautiful." Currently filming the movie 'Ghar Jwai', Magar has already committed to three additional film projects. With a resolve to prioritize acting as her main profession, Magar's story is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance in navigating the route to success.
