Nepse drops 14.48 points, daily turnover crosses Rs 1 billion on Thursday

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday plunged 14.48 points to close at 1,882.60 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,897.08 points and lost 15 points within the first half an hour of the start of the trading for the day. In the successive trading period, the market transaction remained fairly stable without having much fluctuation in the index.

The daily turnover increased to Rs 1.19 billion from Rs 727.87 million on Wednesday. In the intraday trading, a total of 167 companies lost in their market value while 28 companies gained in their share prices.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also declined 2.15 points. All of the 13 trading groups lost in their market value while the life insurance sub-index dropped the highest of 102.17 points. 

In individual companies, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Ltd Promoter Share posted the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 228.94 million. People’s Hydropower Company was the top loser, while Ru Ru Jalvidyut Pariyojana Limited gained the highest percent of its market value.
