PAKISTAN, Aug 25: Newly-appointed Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's cabinet enforced a ban on first-class air travel for top officials.

The top officials include the President, Chief Justice, Senate Chairman and the Assembly Speaker.

According to Dawn, the move was made after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ruling party revised working hours in government institutions, abolished discretionary funds of the Prime Minister, federal ministers and members of the National Assembly on Friday.

The decision was approved during Federal cabinet's second meeting in a week.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has disputed Washington's account of a phone call between new Prime Minister Imran Khan and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, denying that there was any discussion on militants operating in Pakistan.

Pakistan's foreign ministry called for the United States to amend its statement, but US State Department said it stands by its account.
