President Deuba extends tribute to late Gurung

KATHMANDU, June 7: Nepali Congress (NC) President, Sher Bahadur Deuba, today paid tribute to late senior singer and musician, Amber Gurung, mentioning him as the 'bright star' of Nepali music sector. 

Issuing a condolence letter, Deuba praised the singer for his 'crucial contribution' in enhancing the music sector of Nepal. 

Deuba said that the death of singer Gurung, who has also composed national anthem, has caused a loss of a prominent composer of thousands of songs. The NC President further shared that the music sector incurred an irreparable loss and has become guardian-less. 

Reminiscent of the 'incomparable contribution' of late Gurung in Nepali music fraternity, Deuba expressed his high regard for the singer. 

"I express my deep grief over his demise and extend my tribute," Deuba said in the statement adding, "I wish for the lasting peace of the departed soul, and extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. 

Similarly, NC senior leader, Ram Chandra Poudel, extended his grief over the singer's demise. Gurung passed away this morning at the age of 79. RSS
