Sajha Yatayat to add 10 more buses to its fleet

 KATHMANDU, Feb 15:  The Sajha Yatayat, a cooperative public transport limited, has launched night transport service. The night service is operated on five different routes in the Kathmandu Valley from 8 pm to 11 pm.

“We have launched night transport service from Tuesday evening taking into consideration the grievances of the night commuters,” said Sajha Yatayat Officer Mahendra Raj Pandey, adding, “At the initial stage, we are operating the night service on five different routes."

The buses ply along the New Road Gate –Koteshwar road stretch via New Baneshwar from 8 pm to 11 pm.

The other route begins from New Road Gate to Jorparti via Singh Durbar, Tinkune, Airport, Gaushala, Chabahil and will return through the same route.

Similarly, the third route begins from New Road Gate to Kalanki via, Tripureshwar and Kalimati.

The fourth route starts from New Road Gate to New Bus Park via Thamel and Sohrakhutte.

Likewise, the fifth route begins from Patan Hospital, passes through Tripureshwar Eye Hospital, Bir Hospital, Tribhuvan University Hospital, Gangalal Heart Center before reaching Neuro Hospital and will return through the same route.

Pandey further shared that the passengers have to pay Rs 25 as bus-fare for whatever distance they travel.

Earlier, the Sajha Yatayat had been providing night transport service until 9 pm.

Currently, there are 46 Sajha buses plying on various routes in the Kathmandu Valley.

With the commencement of night service, the cooperative is planning to add 10 more buses, added Pandey.
