KATHMANDU, April 26: The weather in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces is currently partly cloudy, while it is expected to be clear in other areas.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, the country is experiencing the influence of westerly wind and local wind. 

The MFD forecasts partly cloudy conditions in the hilly regions and clear weather in the rest of the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in a few places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Light snowfall is likely to occur at one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces. There are chances of thunderstorms at a few places in Lumbini, Sudurpaschim province and at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces. 

Similarly, it will be partly cloudy throughout the country tonight. Light snowfall and rain is likely to occur at one or two places of the high hilly region and mountainous region of Gandaki Province.

In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain followed by thunder and lightning at some places of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. 

Light snowfall is likely to occur at one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces. There is a possibility of gusty winds at some places of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and at a few places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

Considering the potential risks, the MFD advises residents in these areas to take necessary precautionary safety measures.
