KATHMANDU, May 26: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has expedited preparations to finalize its candidates for local units in Provinces 1, 2, 5 and 7 by Saturday.

LAHAN, May 26: In the next seven days, Madhes-centric parties will have to decide whether or not to participate in the second phase of local elections slated for June 14. Since those parties that have remained undecided about participating in the elections are losing their cadres to other parties, some of the Madhes-centric parties are opting to participate in the election due to immense pressure from their cadres.
